OMC V6 Outboard Powerheads
Rebuilt powerheads for Johnson and Evinrude V6 outboards
are covered by a one-year limited warranty. Click
here for 2, 3 and 4 cylinder powerheads.
When you rebuild or replace a powerhead, you should also replace the water pump and rebuild the carbs. The entire fuel and cooling systems should also be inspected to ensure that whatever caused the first failure doesn't damage the replacement powerhead. Be sure to follow the correct break-in procedure in your manual, which generally consists of doubling the oil for the first few tanks and varying the RPMs, as well as avoiding sustained full-throttle usage.
Please be sure to include your engine model number when placing an order.
Our prices include shipping in the
continental US, including the return of your core for credit. The value of your core is primarily based on the condition of your block and crank.

Important Info
Powerheads generally fail for a reason, which can usually be traced back to cooling system or fuel system. This is why it's a good idea to replace the water pump and rebuilt the carbs, as well as inspect the rest of the fuel and cooling system.
It's also extremely important to follow the correct break-in procedure, just as you would for a new motor.
It's extremely important to correctly
identify the problem that caused the powerhead to fail--before replacing it--or
the same problem will likely destroy the replacement. This is extremely
important, so when it doubt, have a shop check it out.
Core value
is primarily based on the condition of your block and crank. You'll
receive a core return label for sending your core back--do not return
the core without the proper label.
