Be sure to follow the proper break-in procedure in your owner's manual, which usually consists of doubling the oil, varrying the RPMs and avoiding sustained wide-open throttle operations.

When you rebuild or replace a powerhead, it's important to identify and correct the problem that caused the failure. You should also replace the water pump, rebuild the carbs and inspect the entire fuel & cooling systems.

Important Info

It's extremely important to correctly identify the problem that caused the powerhead to fail--before replacing it--or the same problem will likely destroy the replacement.This is extremely important, so when it doubt, have a shop check it out. Something as simple as a pinched/clogged fuel line can cause a lean condition, which can lead to a powerhead failure.

The value of your core is mainly based on the condition of your block and crank. You'll receive a core return label for sending your core back--do not return the core without the proper label.
