Mercruiser R-Style Sterndrives (1969-1983)
Rebuilt uppers, gearcases and complete outdrives come with a one-year warranty. There isn't a core charge on these, so you don't need to send your old one back for credit. You can also upgrade your older drive to an Alpha 1, but your old unit wouldn't have any core value.
Complete drives are shipped in two pieces. All units are shipped without oil.

Service Tips
When replacing only half of your drive, upper or lower, it's important to service the other half to avoid damage to the replacement. The half that's not being replaced should be disassembled, cleaned, inspected and resealed.
Always use the proper gear oil and filling procedure outlined in your manual to avoid damage.
